Boredom

by Ailam Remard

Published April 12, 2008

I wrote this when I was really bored and had major writers block!

Boredom

This is really a drag
I don’t know what to write.
So I guess I’ll just sit here
And think about that all night.

And miracles seem to prevail,
For my boredom turned into this.
A stupid little poem,
That really makes no sense.

You can probaly ask Nate to delete this. Don't be ashamed. Its the writng process every author has a work of writng that they thought sucked. You can revise it and and make it your own.

I quite like it - yeah you could spice it up a bit - but its quite cool writing poems about not being able to write poems.

Hey, Ailam Remard! I see you're new to the site, so you might not have had a chance to check out the Rules. We ask that new members write at least two critiques before posting works of their own, and that each member keep his ratio of critiques:posts at 2:1. That's about it.

Be careful with this sort of poem--I have read many, and written a few myself, poems that attempt to be either cute or clever by writing about not being able to write. Instead of being cute or clever, to which this is neither, it becomes a bore and redundant to read such poems.

Try spicing it up a little. Maybe your pencil is a demon who possesses you and fills you with uncreative energies. Who knows. Make it different.

And remember, if you don't think it's worth reading yourself, it probably isn't.

Best luck next time! :]
